Looking for woofer foam....

TejasRichard

Babies taste of chicken..
As posted out in general Audio, I recently bought a set of Infinty RS7 Kappa's.
After looking at our sponsors to try to find the proper woofer foam, everything I found was for the 10" woofer. Mine have the 12" graphite woofs. Anyone know of a good source for these surrounds? Thanks for your help!!!!

woofer foam should be available at main electronics in vancouver canada

about an hour's drive from my house (or 20 minutes from my work (opposite direction from my house though) during weekday daytimes) is main electronics in vancouver, canada.

I get my woofer foam there. they sell lots of it, in plenty of sizes, but you have to measure pretty carefully in advance the inner edge of the foam on your current woofers and the outer edge of the foam as well. there may be other specs as well but that is a heck of a good start.

most speaker builders/repairers within driving distance go to this shop for supplies, it's their dirty little secret (like speaker city that wanted $100 to refoam my infinity woofer... did it myself for $3.50 for a new perfectly fitting foam surround).

so let me know if I can be of help, maybe order some for you and ship it. or at the very least, you could get in touch with them with your specs and hav ethem ship it directly to you (I expect they can ship foam ok, likely do it all the time).

google main electronics in vancouver. their online catalog touches on woofer foam etc, but you really need to talk to htem on the phone I think, or maybe via email.

cheers,
Don

Awesome! Thanks Don! Wasn't sure if, like the advents, these needed a specific surround. Though I guess my first clue should have been the lack of folks selling foam specifically for these woofs...

great! happy that I planted the seed of doubt in your mind....

... or, something like that...

been reading too much HGTTG recently I think
