Love Heresy's, have no space...what to do?

I fell in love with the Heresy's at a very young age and have wanted a set for 35 years... However, I have absolutely no room for them. I am thinking maybe a small bookshelf to go with my sub. I will be powering them with a Marantz 2015 that has been in the family since new (and used to power a set of Heresy's, shame they got crushed by an old water heater).

Love the Klipsch sound, just not the space they take up. What do you all suggest? I also have garbage room setup choices. Need something forgiving in that arena as well.

I suggest trading them with someone who has a pristine pair of Klipsch RB61s for bookshelves . . . or . . . mount the Heresys on a wall?

If you & the Heresies can fit in the room, you have enough room; something else has got to go, get agressive with moving other things.

I don't have the speakers. I mocked up a box with the same dimensions and just no room. I live is a small apartment and the living room has a fireplace and TV/power outlets in very odd places. The fireplace dominates one wall, can't put anything there. The other two walls have the couch, two recliners, and a bookshelf. There insnt a forth wall, just an open space to the dining room. That space is cramped as well. Right now I have a set of separates in a HT in the living room that sound OK, but they aren't great.

Do you have corners where you can instead, put some Khorns?

Might sound counter-intuitive but Khorns have got to be some of the most room (space) efficient speakers out there since they reside in the corner.

(just trying to give you some excuses in case you've always wanted some but needed a nudge)

My living room setup is similar.

Is it possible to move the couch OR the bookshelf in the area separating the living room from the dining room? Place the bookshelf on the back side of the couch? It creates a natural divider between the two rooms.

In the grand scheme of speakers, Heresies aren't that big. They are however, quite heavy for their size. Put a plank across them and call it a desk or table!

All good advice! The Heresys really are not that big, but maybe you ought to look at some of the smaller KG series. Maybe a small set of those and a powered sub would make your day. Best of luck and let us know what you do.

I have tried that. The room is a splinter. Long, but not very deep. Splitting the two spaces doesn't really work as the entrance is in the middle as well. The building was designed in the late 70's and built in the early 80's. Wasn't designed for flat screens, stereos, big couches or anything that is the norm today. The only real way to reconfigure the room is to buy different furniture.

That is kind of what I am looking for. I looked at the KG1, 2, 2.5. But don't know anything about them.

What are you powering them with? I have two amps to choose from, a 35w Harmon/Kardon (SS, very nice sound, crappy separation) and a Marantz 2015 that I am going to restore (15wpc, excellent sound).

Never heard of the Tangent line. I will look into them. I have a good musical sub that's a 10" with a 150w SS amp. I only have room for one sub, so will stick with it.

One sub will work fine. KG4s seem to get a lot of respect. They are smaller than Heresys and have a back firing passive woffer. I suspect a set of KG1.5s on a bookshelf to handle the mids and highs and a powered sub for the lows hooked into your Marantz would sound just fine. Now you just have to concentrate on moving into a larger place in order to house the Heresys that you will eventually trade out for Cornwalls that you will eventually trade out for LaScallas that you will eventually.....

LOL. My wife is being tolerant at this point, so what I get will probably be the last I get unless I win the lottery.

Take a look at the KG line and go with the biggest you can fit. They are discontinued so you will have to go scrounging around to find them. Best of luck and have fun in the hunt!
