Luxnan R117 mm/mc cartridge button ? When button off power button dorsnot work but remote does!

After cleaning the unit I noticed.the power button did not function but the unit would turn on off w remote.

The catrage button was.sticking once.freed up and pushed out and the red light came on the main power button worked fine. W button pushed in the unit would only work from the remote.

I have not used a turntable in years so I never noticed this.. I did I quick read.in the owners manual and saw nothing about this.

Anyone know if that is normal? Otherwise the unit works great.

Again catrage button in out position red light on main power button works .Button in it can only turn on off w remote.

Catrage button pushed out red lamp on main power button works fine.

Catrage = cartridge, I assume?
Having 6 cats as housemates, catrage is strictly verboten here!

From the title of the thread: I thought that the 117 was making your garage-door open and close.

I corrected the title to say "cartridge". As for the functionality questions I can't help.

I have owned a R-117 since 1988 and I'm pretty sure there's no switches or settings that will prevent the power button from working at any time.

It sounds like you have an issue with the power switch (button) itself or its connection to the power relay.

Thanks all, but at this point it works well enough. It in my garage receiver w Klipsch KG 5.5 speakers.



Unit was damaged in shipping last year. Was cosmetic but was working ok. Had a shop replace the relays as I had a set here.

I have to dig out my other 117 and see if it does the same thing..?

Went out to the garage this am and tried the mm mc button on and off w main power switch.

It's now working corre6. It healed itself
