Does anyone know what model M&K subwoofer the M&K Model 17035 Woofer was in?

I intend to try and build one as I have the woofer and the M&K VX 1250 Subwoofer plate amp.

Thanks in advance for any help.

M&K 12" SuperFast driver (part #17035) was the last iteration of the 12" and
I believe it was also used in the VX1250.

Ken,

Thank you for your email and very kind words. They are very much appreciated.

The #17035 is basically a SuperFast version of the driver used in the MX350THX subwoofer, but made in China. It therefore can be used in an MX350THX on down in any M&K 12" single or dual driver subwoofer. This particular driver is 8 ohms. I have recommended this driver as a replacement for older M&K subwoofers all the way back to the very first original single 12" Volkswoofer. Some of these subwoofers normally use 4 ohm drivers, but because this driver is a little more efficient and a 4 ohm version has not been readily available, people have used it as a replacement for 4 ohm M&K drivers and have had the expected excellent results.

You want to be careful as there appears to be some possible counterfeit M&K drivers on the Internet. I know that the people at www.mavin.com bought the last of the authentic 12" SuperFast 17035 drivers at the M&K auction. As long as these are the drivers they are selling, they are authentic.

I do plan to have some new 12" Ultra-High Velocity drivers available in the near future, both 4 ohms and 8 ohms, which can be used as upgrade replacements.

Hope this is of some help.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

In the meantime,

GOOD SOUND TO YOU.....ALWAYS,

"SuperFast" 12" woofers and "Ultra-High Velocity" 12" woofers?

How "fast" and "high velocity" does a woofer need to be?

So this driver will work in a V-100 sub?

Now we're talking. I can finally save mine in the basement.

Hello Ken,
If you get this message, I have a question concerning another M&K Sub-woofer, the MX-80. I bought this from a seller at a Flea-market. The Sub-woofer works fine, except that the amplifier metal plate gets really, really hot during operation.
Is this normal of this amplifiers?

Thanks in advance.
