Magnavox 1500 rec'r - nudes.

piece-it pete

What, me worry?
Well I finally got these pics.

I really don't know what to look for outside of transformer size & big cans. Any tips on what to look for?

I guess the pic of the back wasn't as bad as I thought!

Here's one of a Magnavox "system" (the speaks are magnavox too):

Don't know what you are looking for, Pete!?

Looks like a hefty power transformer (a good sign). Let's see... you can see the P/S caps in front of it (metal cans). What values (could be multisection)? Big ol' heatsink on the back. Interesting to note the two crimped butt connectors on wires near the front. Wonder what's up with that?

Those speakers are probably quite efficient. They look like two-way Heresy wannabees (not in a bad way). Given that, they may not be the best match for an older SS receiver, but probably they'd be bitchen with a single-ended tube amp (or something like an EL84PP tube amp).

You should (IMO) register at the "Magnavox friends" Yahoo group (that is, if you haven't already) AND post these pictures over there. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Magnavoxfriends/

Made in USA ??

Pete,
She’s beautiful, thanks for sharing. Your nude, for me, is proof that you can gain a great deal of info from AK’ers, as several folks here steered me to the origins of one of my favorite units in my collection. I’ve put a nude of it here, can You see the similarities? Mine does not carry the Magnavox name, but No doubt it really is a Magnavox, as I found out. Can You take a close up of the front ? I would love to see. Thanks again.

The heatsink looks identical, the rear plate is all aluminum ??
Mine is a Philips 787 (22AH787/44)
Are there any date codes on Your 1500??
