Magnavox Console Stereo Amp at Estate Sale

Ran by an estate sale over lunch and came across a Magnavox console with satellite speaker. The console and the speaker were in pretty rough shape but it looked like it had two, separate 6v6 amps, one for each channel. Looked like original magnavox tubes.

Looks a bit rough but the price could be reasonable ($25, maybe less). Was thinking these two amps could be pulled to build a standalone unit....but I don't know. That work messin with?

They need a lot of work but I think those will work as mono-blocks. . :yes:

Very much so. DOn't know those particular amps, but two 6V6 mono amps makes for a nice 12 watt per channel stereo amp with zero cross-talk from a common power supply. For that price, buy it for the amps and have a bonfire if there isn't anything else worth saving on it. If there is, save the chunk of useful wood and make trim for your new amps. Save the Magnavox logos too, those are fun to stick on things.
