Magnavox Imperial 1P4125

I recently purchased this Magnavox [280 amps/117v/60hz]. It comes complete with AM/FM radio, 3 speed reel-to-reel tape recorder and a 4 speed record player. It's also comes with a remote control option. Everything works well and the cabinet is like-new. I have 2 questions: I'd like to hook up my Technics 5 disc CD player, but there are no plugs in the back and no Auxiliary option on the control knob. There is an earphone plug on the reel-to-reel. Second - when I'm online, like now, the FM radio reception buzzed and gets a lot of interference. Does anyone know how I can solve these problems. Thanks!

Your Imperial was the top of the line for Magnavox, quite expensive in its time.
Because the tape deck was built in there are no rear jacks,
they are inside. You will have to use these tape jacks for your
CD player and use the selector setting marked tape.

Well I removed the back and found the Auxilary panel and it looks like this: two inputs on top labeled, "Line Output" with purple wire "right" and yellow wire "left" and the two inputs just below that are labeled, "Aux Input" with purple wire "right" and yellow wire "left". I disconnected the Aux Input purple and yellow wires and pluged in the right [red] and left [black]channel wire from the CD player. I left the top "right" and "left" wires in place. I also disconnected the tape deck electrical plug and pluged in the CD player plug.

I turned the radio on and turned the knob to Tape and turned the CD player on. All the lights lite and the CD played, but I got no sound.

What am I not doing correctly? Thank you
