Marantz 2226B stereo lamp issue

Hi to all,
I buy a 2226B, first I switch the voltage from 220V to 240V as the network is a little bit below 240V. Then I test it, everything was working fine :banana:, but no lighting. I mean no lamp at all. After cleaning the 1 ton dust, I found that the 2A (F704) was broken. Replacing it and the dialing, vu and fuse went on. A few are out, just need to replace them.
But the stereo lamp didn't light up. As I can hear radio-stations in stereo it looks as a lamp problem.
I test some voltages and found 7.6 v AC for the working lamps. The Power Supply Adjustment (pt 7 in service manual) is 35,3 V. But 9.6 V DC at J718 - J711 where the 8V stereo lamp is connected. As I don't want to spend time in debugging because my electronic knowledge is limited. And as I read that the stereo lamp can impact the stereo decoder, I would be happy if somebody can advice me :
- should I put a 10V/9V lamp ? sounds logical for me
- or what can happen if I put a 8v 60 mA as the original ? (more than blowing)
- should a 12V lamp work ? because it's easier to find
- somebody has any experience with this problem ?

Contact AK member dgwojo. Tell him what you have and need. He'll know exactly what bulb you need. He even throws in some solder and heat shrink tubing with your order. With some Marantz's, you have to be careful with the stereo lamp. The wrong type of lamp can kill the MPX decoder IC.

I would also replace the fuse style lamps behind the AM/FM dial with 200 mA lamps. Hotter lamps tend to melt and warp the plastic housing.

Hi, thank you for helping me. I'm aware of the lamps value problem, and also where to get them.
I'm more concerned by the 9,6 volt that I found at the stereo pins lamp. Is it normal ? What can happen if I put a new 8v lamp ?

Since the lamp is burned out, you will read the applied voltage across it (Kirchhoff's second law). Once the new lamp is in the voltage will drop to the correct level.

Hi, Kirchhoff's law :huge: , I remember that from when I was student. You restore me to youth. Time to receive the lamps and I will update will results.
