Here is the scenario and I don't know anything else but it is a Marantz 2325 with wooden cab in good condition (not NM), no knowledge of it being serviced, etc., don't know if it even works, for $1,000 at a flea market. What do you guys think?

About $700 too much, IMO.

Now, if everything worked, and the unit was in great condition, maybe $500.

Roadium isn't what it used to be.

FWIW, in these parts, a 2325 w/o case in excellent condition and in proper working order is ~$500. The cases aren't very common for these so add maybe $150 - $200 if it is minty.

I like 2325s and would pay decent money for a nice example - but $1000 at flea market in unknown working condition and an average case :wtf:

I might take a chance at $300

In excellent cosmetic shape, I'd pay $400 regardless of operational condition (I happen to think the 2325 is the best receiver Marantz ever built), but the above description leads me to believe that $200 would be more like it for this one.

I paid less than half of that for mine, and I know where there is a 2385 (one model higher), in good (checked over, minor "restoration") condition for about $200 less, asking price before negotiation.

It's a nice receiver, but not worth remotely near that kind of money unless it's NOS in box, or perhaps an immaculate upgrade/restoration that you want to set aside as a long-term "investment".

This seller was not selling stereo equipment, he mostly had junk, so when I saw it I honestly thought the seller was going to say something like, "oh I'll take $15.00 for it". I try not to disrespect sellers for their prices but when he said $1,000, I couldn't help but chuckle.
