Marantz semis

Anyone have a guess as to why Marantz uses an "H" prefix on their semiconductor designators? I'm very curious.

Seems to have occurred in units designed in Japan. 19, 32, 33, 240, 1120 1200, 3300 all used Q and D designations for transistors and diodes.
22,23,24, 1030,1060, 120 3200 and later use the H designation for semi's. So, I guess its a Japanese thing. Who knows?....

I've been in the electronics industry 38 years and I have no idea why. Maybe it's "Huh?!"

The "H" designation may be for "Handōtai" (半導体) which is Japanese for "semiconductor".
