MARANTZ SR6005 A/V Receiver......agree or dis-agree with my question and response from A.I. ?

I couldn't resist purchasing a beautiful (like new condition) Marantz SR 6005 A/V Receiver (w/remote control) today 11/29/2025 at my local Thrift Shop for a veeery inexpensive price.

I don't usually buy AV Receivers however, since this one is a MARANTZ, I figured, what the heck, I'll give it a go. Once home, I hooked up the Marantz to my (recently acquired) vintage pair of original POLK Monitor 7A (Peerless Tweeters) Speakers and just plugged into the AUX of the Marantz a FM Tuner I had handy.

While I have ZERO interest in Surround Sound, I figure this 110 Watt per channel Amp could just be used as a straight up Stereo System (FM Tuner/CD player/etc.)

Pure Direct is also a setting on Denon AVRs. When engaged it makes a noticeable improvement in fidelity.

No doubt about it. By passing/circumventing all those other inputs, I suspect it makes a much clearer/cleaner audio path and much less interference from all the extra (not needed in my case) processing circuitry. I must say, I like this feature.
