Well I broke my own rule and bought a set of speakers on my trip to Vegas last month. No they are not intended to replace my mains but to give me something new to play with.

The speakers in question are the M&D Audio maximus mini's. At around 1400.00 retail they are what I consider to be one of the finest "little" speakers I have heard. My gawd what comes out of these little guys is nothing short of amazing. Back to listening for now but ill post more thoughts and some pics in the future.

Sounds good Dave, can't wait to hear your thoughts on them after they burn in a little.

Scott

Only 10"? Wow, smaller than I thought - looking forward to hearing more about your impressions.

Too lazy to take my own pics. I added some info from their website and a photo for anyone whose interested.

He didn't get the cherry red ones. Nope, nothing better than 'Traffic Alert Yellow", so that everybody can see them.

Amazing soundstage from those AMT tweeters. Surprising amount of LF music from that little midwoofer. They don't seem to be too sensitive to placement. T.H.E. Show demo had them six feet out into the room. Grumpy had them about eighteen inches from the back wall. Neither placement seemed to hurt the sound.

Don't know if I would call it safety yellow. Bit like canary yellow to me. Really wanted the red ones but these were a show special so ya got what they had available there.

Not sure how many hours they had on them before I got them but it would be even more awesome if they were still breaking in.

Had a chance to listen to a set of these a few months back, great little speaker!! I too was amazed at how much came out of them, very sweet!!

Dave, 25"x14" is about the size of AR3's. I wouldn't call them small by any means, but I bet they sound great. I'm looking to hear more from you about them.

Oppps! that's centimeters! They ARE small! Cool.

Satisfactory dispersion means larger than the size of a persons head sweet spot? :scratch2:
