MB Quart One Tweeter Help

Hello,

I recently got into vinyl and found a decent deal on MB Quart Ones. When I first tested and bought the speakers, everything seemed great. Today, I was testing out another pair of speakers and when I went to connect the MB Quart back to the receiver I noticed that something was loose within one of the speakers. The piece is visible and lies just around the tweeter dome. I Google around but couldn't find any speakers with a similar piece so I'm hoping somewhere here can educate me on its purpose and what the best solution would be. Pictures attached to show the good speaker versus the one with the issue.

Was it attached to the mesh screen or the dome? I’d guess the screen and it’s a (phase) lens to improve the frequency response. Many tweeters have something similar but often on spokes.

You may be able to remove the tweeter from the speaker and then remove the four inner screws to access the area between screen and dome. Be careful if you’ve not done this type of thing before and look at some tutorials etc first. Be especially careful with the metal dome - if it gets dented it can’t be completely fixed.
 
Looks like the black dot on the good tweeter has fallen off the bad tweeter. The tweeter needs to be disassembled and the dot glued back on. Whether it goes on the dome or the mesh is something you'll see from examining the good tweeter.
 
Thank you for the replies, that's kind of what I was thinking but I have no experience with this so wanted to reach out for some clarity.

I'll look into some tutorials on removing the tweeter and go from there.

I imagine it is hard to assess from some pictures, but I'm assuming if I were to continue using it, as is, that the damage could be worse? (Perhaps the black lens would damage the tweeter?) I'm just worried, I'll mess it up more by trying to take it apart but maybe I'll just go get a cheap speaker from the thrift store to give it a practice run on what to expect.
