MC30 serial # location

Evening all, This should be an easy question.

Where is the serial # located on the old MC30 amps? The two I have, I originally assumed were sequential units because there is an ink stamped number on the underside of the chassis which is sequential, but there's also a number die stamped into the bottom edge of each chassis which is non sequential, but close (21 digits greater/less). I'm just trying to figure out which is the correct number... I'm thinking the dye stamp is an inspection number and not a serial number but just don't know enough about the amps to be sure.

Serial number on MC30 are made on decal on the side of the unit .(see my picture) chassis is in poor condition ( I know ) !
The stamped numbers inside are in correspondance with serial number and recorded by the factory .
I don't know if these records are available today ...

Interesting, the serial numbers on my MC40's were stamped on the chassis near the first signal tube. It looked like they just used a old time rubber stamp to do it. They were not straight or precise. One was almost worn off.

Yes ! MC40/MC240/MC75/MC275 and some other , serial numbers are in double : one outside and the other one (for safe if the outside one is erased by cleaning the chassis with the wrong product ) is stamped on the chassis !

I actually talked to Terry about this and he confirmed that the stamped ink numbers stamped on the inside are the serial numbers. My units don't have the external sticker, but one of them has the same ink stamp as on the inside in same location as the sticker on yours clinic. I can't see any sign of a stamp on the other unit, but the amps are 50+ years old (mine were probably made in about '61) so it might just have been cleaned off sometime in the past.

I have no idea what the die stamped numbers on the bottom are... Maybe production # of the chassis only. Anyway, it doesn't matter.
