MC501's getting brighter

thefeds15

Paulie Walnuts
Im passing through about 40 to 60 hrs on a pair of 501's that I bought used. Before me they had not been used in 2yr's, and then only lightly. Over the past 10 hrs or so they have become bright. Now thats how my TT sounds. My CDP sounds a little hyper, and slightly over extended. They are both running through a C45 with over a 100hrs on it. The only other component Im breaking in is a Monster AVS2000, which runs the pre,TT and the cdp. Can anyone offer any insight into why this is happening, could it be the mc501's? BTW my speakers are well broken in SF Cremona's.

Thanks...PF

Agree with Ron. Remove the Monster

in fact , with a system as fine as yours, I can't imagine ANY Monster product worthy of being in your system, IMO

I have an AVS-2000, and it doesn't affect my sound that way... but Ron's right, take it out and evaluate one change at a time.

I did not say remove the AVS2000. I said to remove the last change and work backward to see what is changing the sound. It could be interconnects or any other changes made. This can also be a change in room furnishings or equipment positioning.

Thanks,
Ron-C
