Looking at a MC7106. Has anyone ever tried this with horns? Also, I was thinking of using it to bi amp my l/c/r. Last does anyone know of a rack mount kit for this amp.

Thanks

My buddy Mike has one and loves it with his k-horns. Better than his MC2205s he says ...

Middle Atlantic Technology did in fact make a rack mount kit for it.

You might contact Midland Atlantic, they make all sorts of rack adapters for Hifi equipment. I know they use to make a set for the 16 inch units, either the 2105, 2205, 7270, 7300 7200 size. and one for the 2505, 2125, 2155, 7150. They even had a smaller one for the 502. They sell just the shelf if you don't need the front face plate. They also make a rear adapter for heavy units that need the rear of the unit to be secured and supported.

I installed quite a few 7106 for home theatre systems using Klipsch Heritage speakers. Belles, Corn walls, K-horns. Altec 604's for the rear in two cases and Klipsch RF 7's for other systems. The main issue was the subs. We finally settled on two subs using twin belt motor driven 15 inch cones with 18 inch passive radiators using a 2500 or a 2600 power amp. We operated the Korner horns and Cornwall center as full range and the rest as small even though they could all reach 30 hz. When using a Belle with Rane equalizers we would roll the bass off at 50 hz, with the processor set as large for the center speaker. I think we were using MX 132 and 134 processors at the time. Maybe even a 135, but I think by then the 206 amp was available. I thought the 7106 was a perfect match for Heritage Klipsch loud speakers. I thought the 7106 did a great job getting fast bass out of the horn loaded woofers. The later Klipsch with the advanced tweeters were a little edgy for me no matter which Mac amp you used. I prefer the natural roll off of the Ev T-35 tweeter compared to the newer Klipsch tweeters with metal diaphragms.

Thanks for answering my questions folks. I would be using this on a some DIY Klispch Belle bass bins with EV HP640 horns. Does anyone know the sound difference between an MC2505 and one of these?

Thanks
