MC75 Reiussed, Did I Made the Right Chioce?

I am glad the MC75 voiced more dynamic and cooler sound signature than MC275 in stock form, which give me opportunities to use old stock tubes that often have more attractive timbre than new production tubes. Now, I am using Holland made Miniwatt 12AX7 "fat boy" in V1, I called then fat boys because they are fatter than any other 12AX7s I have. Mullard CV455 in V2 position, and E180CC Philips Miniwatt Holland made long plate in V3. I don't recall which one, one of the small stock tubes have imaging problem I mentioned in earlier posts. I disagree with some people here saying Mac voice their amps based on the stock tubes without testing NOS options. I have never tied Telefunken in any of those positions, well, I should try but my wallet says nay. What do you guys think?

Sold both MC75 and Cary, and I went through MC275 and MC60 after that, now I am on MC30. Sumup, both MC75 reissue and MC275 are modern sounding amps, MC60 is a bass monster and they did not sound balanced across the board. MC30 for music lovers that just want to kick back and enjoy music.

2022 update: two pairs of MC30 stayed in the house, one pair were restored to original specs, and one pair were restored to Yamazaki version (according to Jeff Days article). IMHO, MC30 is the pinnacle of McIntosh, a few with passion and soul. It is a shame that McIntosh can't out do itself. Today, I have a pair of 300B driven 845 mono and a custom 300B SET is coming. Now I am looking back to MC75, they were beautifully made with upscale taste in a timeless fashion, but their sound quality need more "soul" to earn my respect.

Does passion and soul equate to coloration? I wonder the same when I look back fondly on my MC60s. I still do have an MC225 and it's FR is so ruler flat from 10-50kHz, it's outright scary - it sounds just beautiful.

MC225 and mC240 are the two another Macs that are worthy to keep. Music is always colored, for example, the voice of CÉLINE DION is not the same like 20 years ago, her voice is colored now compare to her prime time, LOL. I look that the music rather like art works not engineering pieces, it is more about interpretation and expressions than absolute correctness. Of course, people have different taste, I respect that.
