MCD 7010 - is a DAC necessary?

There is a MCD-7010 for sale near me at a decent price. If I went for it, I was wondering if a DAC would further improve the sound (jazz and classical). I have never used a DAC before so I am going off what I’ve read. I’m not sure if one would be necessary for this model, but thought I would ask. Thanks.

A DAC is not necessary for a MC7010

While an external DAC isn't required for it to play. Which I don't think was your question. I'm sure that a current DAC of really good quality can upstage what's in the player, considering it's age.
