Hi guys

Just a question, on my MCD301 Cdplayer if I let a CD inside and put it On the CD player start automatically

Another remark When I select a type of display ex : SINGLE R Time, ... and put it Off, and put it On my chose of display disappeared ?

Can we upgrade the softwar to delete these bugs ?

MCD500 has the same silliness. You need to remember to remove the CDs prior to shutting down. Once you have scared the crap out of family and friends a couple of times after the tube preamp completes warm-up you won't forget.

I don't understand your question? Unless you select the Play button the CD will not start.

No that is my problem even if I don't select the Play button the CD start automatically.

In fact If I let a CD inside the CD Player then select the stand by button
When I start the CD player, the CD Player play automatically and that's boring because of the my tubes in the preamp aren't enough hot

Can you try with your MCD301 to let a CD inside then stand by the CD player then put it on and see if the CD start autoimatically ?

Thanks

What he is trying to say, i think, is when he turns OFF the CDP with a disc still in the drawer, then the next time he turns the CDP ON, the disc will automatically start spinning.

Yes, this is normal. My 301 did it. My 500 does it.
Yes, it is annoying. Absolutely no need for this function. Ditto for returning to default track # info when when selected elapsed time prior to powering down.

all that truely matters is how wonderful those shiny silver discs sound spinning in a McIntosh!

You are correct, if a CD is left in the unit when it is turned off, then the CD will automatically begin playing when the unit is turned back on. The logic seems to be that if you had not wanted to hear the CD start playing again, you would have taken it out of the unit.

I know that I have to take the CD out before turning off my MCD301 if I don't want to meet the problem ;-)
But for me it is the first time that I observe that on a CD player
I just wanted to know if all the 301 had that bug or not
if not maybe it is just a question of upgrading the software of the player
