mcintosh bozak speaker

just came across large speaker cabinet, 4 feet by 3 feet by 2 feet wide.inside are 4 bozak b 199 12's,one bozak 5 1/4 b 209a,and four bozak b200x tweeters and crossover. heres the catch,the cabinet had a mcintosh brass nameplate.only thing i can find is possibly a mcintosh f 100 or possibly a bozak lowboy.any info helpful. i will put up pictures tommorow.

Im almost positive Mcintosh used Bozak drivers in their first venture into producing speakers. I think it was more on a spec basis to see how viable it would be to build and sell speakers. The rest is history.

It sure looks like a McIntosh F100 to me. More info on the F100 speaker here:

The F100 was made in 1952 and they only made about 5 of them, that's a nice piece of McIntosh history.

Yes it does in fact look like the F100 which for rarity alone has got to be along the lines of original Cobra GT! By the time of Mac's "official" introduction to mass marketed speakers with the ML series, they were producing (or subcontracting for) their own drivers.

I've had several ML models and the follow-up XR series, both of which required the separate Mac equalizer. They were okay but once I discovered Bozak there was no going back.

If you search the archives you will find this is the second one that has been found by an AKer, that is unless this is the same one. Lets get on the stick, 3 more to go and they will be all accounted for.

Goodness gracious me. WHERE ever did you find that? You can count on one hand the number of those critters left in the world.
