Interesting find today, I can’t seem to find another one on the internet but I bought a Mcintosh Service Information binder. It appears to contain a schematic for quite a few mcintosh units all in one binder. It also has a few service bulletins and manuals at the back. Anyone ever run into one of these before? I’ll post some pictures.

The service bulletins alone will be a Godsend.

Those are the service bulletins included in this binder! Do you have the hard copies?

I don't believe that I do and I've had this file for years, not even sure where I got it.

I believe I have a few newer ones also, I tend to hoard information.

I'll be surprised if they're not already in the database, I tend to submit anything that I have in electronic format.

Service manuals and schematics are a whole different pile, unfortunately the amount of data there is large and I've had trouble getting the emails small enough to get into our database, and gave up. Many / most are already in there, but I should check to see if all versions are there as many have multiple (I think most do) SMs/schematics.

Yeah I will not be able to upload the binder for that reason, I just scanned the file and it is 83 mb. I tried compressing and now you cant read anything so... any other ideas?

I sent an email once asking the same thing, and I don't remember what the reply was but AFAIK I never did upload the file. In the "old days" we used to log into an FTP server and upload/download, but I'm out of the engineering game and don't know how it is done today.

You might have to break it down to each individual product and go from there .Schematics probally need to be scanned at 1200 x600 and the individual print can be done at less to keep it within ak's file size which i use to do but have no idea what it is any more...Perhaps is a sticky for the pdf on the top of the McIntosh forum like saturationpt posted in this post would be great but then that would would take away from the database.:dunno:

Look for an online fileshare site. Then provide the link to the docs.

I had owned my 2100's for a few months when Davie came to town to perform a Mcintosh Clinic. He up graded my 2100's using this update for my 2100's. He said it significantly reduced IM distortions in the higher frequencies and helped reduce Harmonic distortion a bit. I think that was around 1972. I replaced the amps with DC 300 A's because they performed better with my Infinite Baffle speakers giving much tighter more dynamic bass. I will admit the midrange could be to dry occasionally. I had changed from bi-amping to tri amping when I got the Crowns. Two DC-300A and a D-150A for the new supper tweeters. Then I changed to MC 7200's and a MC 7100. The next change was to a MC 206 and the last change to a MC 207. When I added more speakers for HT I added another 207 after using the 206 was sold for the bi amped center, rears, and surrounds. I will say the 207 and 206's were a big improvement over the Crowns from 100 cycles up and they were very close to Crowns from 100 cycles down. So I now have two 207's for the HT system. The second one is just over a year old. Got a great deal from Steve at Audio Classics after the 207's had been discontinued and replaced by the 257. Discontinued new units are always a great buy. As are demonstrators from Audio Classics.

Nicely done! Many thanks for scanning and posting that. Perhaps the poohbah in charge of the AK database could nab it from that google drive
