I was looking at some of the gear pictures on here, and it's almost like porno to me, great stuff! (One of the best decks I have is a Teac A-4010 GSL)
I'm very interested in rescuing and restoring old equipment and I'm not very good at it, at least if there's a major electronics problem or even a simple one like a dried cap or something. (Know nothing on this!)
I'm fixing up a Uher 4000 Report-L I just got at a thrift store for about $12. It wasn't well taken care of and it isn't stereo, but I shouldn't complain! Anyone know where I can get any info and tips on this thing? The VU meter isn't working. I don't have the proper DIN cable for it, so I'm sticking bare wires in there! (I think I do have one but it's a good airplane trip away!) I guess this isn't proper forum etiquette to post this here, but I'll probably get used too this site soon.
