Micro Seiki MA 505 MK III tonearm help

I have a Micro Seiki MA 505 MK III tonearm. As is often the case with these arms, the "bath tub" for the damping fluid is missing and the paddle that goes down into the fluid is broken. I have a friend who makes mil-spec parts on a VERY expensive computer driven lathe. He made me three new paddles out of aluminum so now I need a tub. Fortunately, I also have a friend who does "Metal Spinning" and thinks he can make the tub but I need either a tub for him to copy or very detailed drawings. Any body got a Micro Seiki MA 505 MK III tonearm with the damping tub?

I do not have a Micro Seiki MA 505 MKIII tone arm with the damping tub. :no:

Do you have some pictures of this tone arm ?

Do all MA-505 arms have the oil bath feature. I have seen what I thought were early arms on the DD-40 without this feature, or it was totally missing.

No, it was introduced on the MKII X version shown below. The X version has the heavier base, and they moved away from the on-the-fly VTA adjustment, and so it is carried over the MKIII version in the OP, never would've been available on the DD-40, which used a version of the MKI arm with different base...

Yes, they all have dynamic balance with the tungsten wire and internal spring, which is also used to set the anti-skate by deflecting the wire. Gives you the ability to adjust VTF on-the-fly too.
 
I want one of those arms badly, they're just so bloody expensive. But they're one of the coolest arms ever built.

Depends on what you think is expensive, I've bought one in good shape before from hifido for around $400 with shipping (still haven't used it yet either), but they can get quite a bit more expensive on places like ebay, that's for sure, especially for the rarer versions. My BL-91 came with the MKII X version, though without the damper, they are really nice tonearms, I'm using the headshell with the extra holes, I think it's a little over 8 grams, so effective mass is pretty reasonable, about the same as the Technics SL-1200 series, 12-14 gm, works well with most medium compliance cartridges...

Curious if @Bill Beausol ever got the tonearm damping setup? I'd love to see how it turned out. I recently updated my BL-91 to the MA-505 MKIII with damping trough, and filled it last night with 50,000 CST silicone oil, so far so good...
