I have 2 pair - like U found - the price was so low and they are JBL, For the price of the accumulated change found under my couch cushions, how could I resist ? Seems one pair has fried tweets though. I hooked 'em up A and B, spun the "Sultans of Swing" album and the difference was right there. My Sansui has an A/B/C speaker option. I have a pair of old L50's hooked up to the same amp. I accidentally chose the 2060's & the 50's at the same time (??). No comparison in the HF department.. Same for bass.Can you guess which was which ? Even though the 50's weren't known for anything spectacular the woofer added what the 2060's lacked. For 20 bucks or so though they make a good spare set for small places or, for the kids. Better than the run of the mill plastic boxed junk of the same size you'd get with a Walmart system. I put one pair on my dresser and the other in my bathroom. I listen to talk radio via the internet and they reproduce the spoken word nice and clear ! Just to be clear though - I put the better pair ontop of my L-112's and did a simultaneous A/B
just for the fun of it. I had to check to be sure I set the selector correctly as I couldn't hear the 2060's
over the L112's. These are the top of that particular series though - I think they start at J2040, then 50 and these 60's.

These speakers were made by the 1000s, they WILL show up from time to time, and people will want to know......and they're JBLs!!!!( I'm a fanboy).

I have the cousin of the J2060 (2600). To me they are a nice sounding bookshelf speak. Mine are in mint condition as well & are the mainstay in my HT system. They exude a smooth balanced sound that can be used with a subwoofer to bring out the low freqs, but for me they are enough for right now.

This just goes to show how awesome this site is. I found a pair of JBL J2060 speakers on Craigslist for $20. Wanted to know the spl for matching with my current system. Incredible ease at finding the right info here thanks to this thread.

Old thread I know. Anyway, today, I found a good (physical) condition pair of JBL J2060's at my local Thrift Shop for less than the cost of a double Latte. There is but one small hole in the grill cloth. I can't wait to hooked em up tonight just for S#!ts and giggles and see what they can do assuming all drivers are in working condition.
