Mirage OM-10 theater system?

The mirage om10 om-c3 and om-r2 are being sold for $200. I've never listened to them, but the om-10 seems to have great reviews. I'm looking for a theater system, but not sure they are really worth $200. Any thoughts?

Also, the OM-10 doesn't have woofer, will the low end suck?

I'm using Pioneer BS41 and C21, will the mirage have a big difference?

Mirage make good stuff at reasonable prices - but your BS41 is pretty good too - I am sure you know.
It's a different kind of sound - the Mirage is loaded softly, and the BS41 is loaded hard (making the piano and strings sound more realistic), while the Mirage do voices better. Mirage will be a tad more transparent on top perhaps, but it will not be a big difference, since Pioneers are pretty good (especially for the price - award winning design).

If you want to try something different, something that does voice better and are softer in presentation with better highs, than Mirages are worth $200 for sure, but you already have ok ones to start with, so it's your call...

Thanks for the info. I didn't know BS41 is that good, the msrp of mirage set was near $2000 but only a tad better than BS41 + C21. I really need to reconsider...

I'm not sure what do you mean...:scratch2:
Someone took woofer out??? Why???

:D No, they are intact, my concern was they are two way speakers (though there are four drivers), and not like three or four way ones which have dedicated woofers for lower range, and this may cause it not going deep.

Don't worry about that!
Manual says 28 Hz to 22 KHz.
They will put deeper bass than most of 3 or 4 way speakers.
How do I know? Have OM-9 and had M-5si.
Go get them-you wouldn't regret!

I've had the OM10 for years and these are very good speakers. Open high great but not to deep low so you do want an sub woofer like I did.

Becarefull, they might need some space.
When I had it a REL Stadium, de REL didn't give what I went for. So I sold them again. Now that I knew I was happy with them.
The other speaker I don't know, but for that money you can take a risk.

I think he is thinking the bass will suck because they don't have a larger woofer like a lot of other brand speakers do? In my experience with Mirage, they do a lot of things well. Bass not being one of them but they are not too shabby. A subwoofer is needed for sure.

Yeah, that's what I meant :) I do have a sub now, but right now I'm using a 5.1 system with A/B set front speakers, so it is not convenient to switch to 2.1 for music. So bass for music is a problem.

Great to hear comments from a OM10 owner. Seems bass is not as strong as I expect from a "floorstanding" speaker. I care more about music (stereo listening), since I think BS41/C21 will be more than sufficient for movies. And as I explained above, it not easy to use 2.1 for me to listen to music now.

Maybe you should look for something different on your local CL. There are SO many great speakers to be had. But for $200. That Mirage package is a DEAL imo The 10's are worth that alone. Would be hard for me to pass on that.

Try ADS!

They will be an upgrade from your well regarded pioneer.

I am trying to find a clean pair - I used to have them and loved them.

They have similar presentation as the bs41 but more upscale, in a pleasant way - with wider sound stage, more transparent top, and more dynamic sound in general - and they are quite affordable on used market!

Thanks, guys. I finally find a pair of great condition JBL L5. I really like their warm sound, and the deep and responsive bass.
