Monitor Audio Silver S6 - Value?

I'm sure you found this info as well but....
You can buy the newest Silver line (Silver 6) at Crutchfield for $750/speaker. $1500 for the pair. Factor in that these are a model or two older and have been used then offer what you feel is respectable. If I were selling, I probably wouldn't want less than $1000 for them but wanting and getting are always two different things. Obviously discount the "I found these at GW for $40" stories as that's an anomaly, not a reality for most. Good luck on the hunt and hopefully someone else weighs in.
Edit- Unless that camera has the wrong date, those speakers are nearly 10 years old. I wouldn't think that $1000 or less would be unreasonable. Perhaps $800 as a starting point and work your way to the middle?

Thanks Double D! I know I'm not allowed to discuss any particular sales of my own in this section, so I'll just say generally that I am very familiar with Craiglist lowballers. I'm at the point now where unless I have something really special, I expect a CL sale to garner maybe half of an eBay price, if I'm lucky.

Speakers that nice, I'd rather give them to someone I knew or sell them to a newbie for a quarter of their value before I sold my soul on Craigslist. Hell, pair those with some smaller silver or bronzes and you have the beginnings of a really nice home theatre system.
Or, you could always hang those from your rafters and sell of the JBL.

About 6 months ago I sold a new, unopened pair of the current Monitor Audio Silver 6 speakers for $800. And it took a few days to sell on USAudioMart.com. Won't use Audiogon.
