I have a Motorola stereo that has a solid state amp and a tube pre-amp. It has three channels on the power amp, I don't know how the pre-amp gets it;s power from a solid state power amp. There is no power transformer on the pre-amp, I want to get that amp out of the equation and don't know how. Any suggestions? Thanks so much Mike.

Most likely, the power supply for the whole thing is on the power-amp chassis, as well as the power-amp circuit. You need a schematic and you would be keeping the power-amp chassis anyway.
