Motorola X300 SS Console.

Good Morning All,

I've come across a mint condition Motorola x-300 stereo console with the Drexel cabinet. It's suppose to be a 1966 model. Does anyone out there know much about this particular model or where I might find more info on it. I'll try to get a couple pics posted later.

Well I got a couple pics uploaded. So do any of you Motorola Guru's know anything about this console? I did find a 1966 ad out of Ebony magazine and a couple of the sale highlights was that it was a 150 watt amp separate from the tuner and also the first sealed speaker compartments. Anyway I'll take a look at it tomorrow morning, it's only 3 blocks from my house.

I just purchased something very similar, same electronics different cabinet.
In need of a cartridge for the turntable. Anyone have any info?

hope it helps I just dug it up and no affiliation. you didn't mention the model of the TT.. so..

Perhaps a shure line up if can get mounting right on head shell. I just don't know if amp is equivalent to stereo or hi fi stereo assuming all is good with tt.

Not sure how to go about figuring out the model info on the turntable. Is there somewhere on the cabinet i should check? A bit weary of removing turntable as everything is working currently and would hate to change that.

I did find and ad for the exact one I have but not sure how helpful this is.

I attached a photo of what I assume is the cartridge or what is left of it. I'm trying to find the right Tetrad cartridge but getting list in all these numbers.

Actually, the cartridge looks ok from you picture, the yoke seems to be intact. Stylus would be a M-855DS.

The proper replacement cartridge is a Tetrad 6-31D-M11 also sold as Astatic1187D, EV 5299D and Phansthiel P-438D, these include the headshell. I believe the cartridge only would be a P-462D if the yoke is
yellow which it appears to be in your picture. Tetrads are confusing.
 
In real life, that wattage rating would have been PMPO (Peak Music Power Output) aka Music Power, not RMS. In that era, a good console. Better than average performance. The record changer is likely VM.

I found a similar one, out of curiosity how much did you spend?
 
Hi Pamala8213...I ended up not buying it. They were asking $300 for it and on top of that it had a weak right channel. I loved the styling though.
