My 1984 BMW M635 CSI

Stoffie

Sony afficionado
Tonight, after waiting for what seemed forever, she finally arrived. Man what a car...it's a childhood dream come true!

She's perfect, no rust anywhere (which is rare), full service history and over 5000€ in maintenance spent by the previous owner getting the car perfect.

And apparently the motor has been replaced (documented) with a new one at 109000km, which means it actually has less than 70000km...

Here she is (pics are a bit dark as it was already getting pretty dark outside by the time the seller arrived):

Sheer beauty, I had an '86 E24 M635CSi (shadowline example) in the early 90's and loved every minute of it. My wife laments the car still as it was our 'courting' car ;)

I hope you enjoy yours as much!

Indeed a nice M car & like MB's AMG series, they are true performers. If you want more performance, BMW uses another tuner (Alpina) that could go over it.

Also, Dinan does some great work on BMWs. I don't know if they would work on your model, but they might.

Very nice, even as an '84 it still looks modern today. :thmbsp:

Excellent car!

I worked for BMW a short time and loved all the older cars that rolled in. I myself drove a very clean low mile 1989 325E and loved it greatly.

IIRC at one point Steve Dinan did a twin-turbo conversion for the M635.

Thanks guys, I haven't had time to enjoy the car as I had to leave to France for a week the day after getting it.

Now it's time to clean her up, polish everything, give the leather a once-over, and see what the engine needs (very little I figure, the previous owner really pampered her).

I do not plan on doing any mods on it, plenty of power as it is. Don't like turbo's and all that aftermarket mod stuff. She is pure and I'd like to keep her that way. :)

Sexy thing that one :) I would not mind more pictures ? How does she (is it a she?) look inside? as nice as the outside ? Simply Love those cars... Hope I can afford (and have the space) for something like that (or the 3.0csi which is an insanely gorgeous car as well!) sometime in my future :)

(Really)stupid question from an idiot. Why are the frontlights yellow?

Very nice car indeed. Reminds me of my Mother's old 750iL Dinan. BMW makes a heck of a fine ride.

Been detailing and vacuuming inside, it was already looking really good, just a bit dusty here and there. Gonna do the leather next week.

Only downer is the cable mess for the radio, somebody has been hacking away at it sometime in the past, and it's a bunch of cut and re-attached wires with little boxes and fuses in between, pre-outs and what not. Will take some time to figure that out and get the right connectors for the 90's Blaupunkt radio I got for it. (suits the style greatly).

The headlights are yellow because it is originally a French car (I live in Europe), and they used to have obligatory yellow fronts on all cars in France (not anymore).

Can't wait to take it for a spin (still need insurance, paperwork and plates taken care of).

The sound of that 24 valve 6 in line gives me the shivers (but happy shivers). :D

Very nice !

FYI
Early evening (or just after dawn) is exactly the right time to take pictures of cars - especially if they are clean :D - the quality of light at those times is extremely flattering to any car.
