So what's a 7 year old's playlist look like ? I wonder if Maxwell's Silver Hammer and Octopus's Garden would be fun for a kid these days?

When I was around 8 we had a 15 or 20w integrated from RS with a Garrard TT and a couple full range single driver speakers (quite solid actually) in the rec room.

We had a nicer system in the living room, but in the rec room the only record I recall having was Abbey Road and must have played that 1000 times.

Future head-banger, treat the disease not the symptoms, get him a PL400 or similiar, it will be cheaper in the long run. (LOL?)

My grandson took all my Ventures albums....he loves the guitar!!!

Adcom, pretty "high cotton" for a youngster...but if he's listening to The Ventures he's OK in my book ;) Get him some stuff by The Shadows, that UK band was kind of what The Ventures emulated...Apache was great!
Oh the system I built him is a Rat Shack special....with a full auto TT. He wears it out. He is the only one with any interest....so he may inherit my collection...

When I see him next, I check out his playlist and report back.

We got his new system hooked up and he loves it. For a 7 year old, his play list ranges from K-pop to Led Zeppelin to Blind William McTell. Its crazy. I have to laugh though: when I was setting it all up, he picked up one of the speakers and said “these are kind of small”.

I think he has the bug
