last night i got bored and hooked up my old marantz 1150 integrated amp. i hooked it up as a pre amp (it has a pre amp output) into my citation 16a and it sounded great!! i have had this marantz for 26 years and it always sounded good but kind of low powered. it is amazing that it sounds that much better than the hk 825 pre amp i have been using. i kept it hooked up for now and will look around for a different pre amp (citation 11 or 17 maybe?) i guess you never know until you try.......
