My father passed away yesterday.

My condolences to you and the rest of your loved ones.

Keep in mind as one door of his life closed...another opened.

I'm so sorry. I lost my mother in 2005 and it left me in shock. I had a lot of memories that came shooting through my mind.

Again, I know how you feel and I'm so sorry for your loss.
 
Having lost my father several years back to smoking related causes (although he had quit several years ago), I understand your loss.

I hope the good times are celebrated, passed on, stories told, and the memories are warm and pleasant.

My deepest sympathies and condolences during this difficult time.
My father passed in Jan 2017 from brain cancer.
 
Very sorry to hear this. You may choose to take some comfort because it doesn't sound like he spent much time being ill or suffering.
