My new SPEC-1 unwelcome surprise

Retro you da man!:thmbsp:
Hard to see a great piece go to waste or butchered.
Great restore job, my hats off to ya.

Congratulations! Sounds like all worked out well! It's always great to see a good end result. Three cheers for Retro and the Echoman! Brad

Echo, looks like MMS will have what I need for about $2.00! Their phone goes straight to VM right now, but I'll try later in the week. Good contact, thanks.

Retro, thanks again for sharing your parts with me. Our combination of ruined and damaged parts was good for one 100% functional volume pot. I doubt I could have made such an original repair short of a new part. I was not looking forward to trying to make something else work and the possible modifications that would entail. It is likely that this unit would have stayed inop for quite some time.

Best of all, the SPEC 1 works properly and allowed me to pull my SPEC 4 out of storage to pair it up as it should be. What a fantastic system this is. I just hooked them up to my HPM 100u's and stepped back in time. I don’t know what I like more, the look of all this silver or the wonderful sound it is capable of reproducing.
