I ran across this piece of Sansui electronics on another forum. I have never seen any piece of Sansui gear like this. I think it is a tuner. It does not look like a pre-amp. It has an octal plug That I have seen this socket on many vintage tube type HiFi audio gear from the 1950’s. I have never got over the US Navy instilled affection I have for Sansui electronics. I would love to know more about this example.

Seems to have a radio, or maybe it controls some other piece they sold, so it's either a receiver or just a preamp.

Audiokarma comes through. I have been a fan of Sansui for more than 40 years and I have never seen or heard of this pre-amp. .

Moefuzz no need to apologize for your English. I am really into vintage electronics. I have a deep affection for portable lunch box style tube type radios, Zenith Trans-Ocranics, RCA-Victor Strato-Worlds etc. It is not often I come across an electronic device from the 1950’s I don’t even have passing knowledge of. To US Sailors in the 1970’s Sansui was like rosary beads to a Catholic. ’

Transmaster. I was in 1973 - 77. Spent 2 yrs at Treasure Island, and 100% of the gear in the HM bks was Pioneer, except for one of the chiefs that had some tube Mac stuff. Personally I liked the H.H. Scott stuff but couldn't afford it at the time, so got a SX-434 Pioneer to go with my PRO-4A's I got in Jr. High. Saturdays and Sundays in the parking lot was great. Everyone working on or Washing cars, 2/3's of the guys had their spkr's pointing out the windows blasting one of the Radio stations from S.F. (needless to say Schools command didn't take too kindly to the "racket" as they put it. But our C.O. was higher rank than the Schools command C.O. so we got our way, albeit at a slightly lower volume (maybe down 3db.:D). Didn't get to Sansui's until about 12 yrs ago. Some of my Favorite stuff next to my Fisher Tube stuff. Suppose we were a bunch of Heathens at the time.

I actually lived on Treasure Island in the late 1960’s. Returned to it in the late 1980’s and it looked like a B-52 bombing raid had hit it.
