Nakamichi RE vs. Nakamichi Receiver?

Which was better in the lineup … the “RE” or the “Receiver” series? Any info. is appreciated.

Stick with the SR and TA receivers. A little nicer sounding.

I've seen both in person and used a Receiver 1 80watt per channel mc/mm decent tuner shouldn't of sold it cause the remote was very handy

Okay, thanks for the info. I have a RE-3 at the moment, not too bad sounding.

You definitely don't want to put anything on top of of one, but they are probably some of the best sounding receivers ever made.

TA-4A. Probably the best receiver I ever had. They are not cheap anymore though.

I think the "RE" line may have been nicer especially the build quality with the metal front while the "receiver" series may sound good but looks BPC

Case materials have little to do with overall build quality. It's a misconception that has persisted in many consumer products.

Fair enough. But I had and RE3 and Receiver 3 and preferred the RE3. The receiver 3 has a bit of a bloated bass
