NE AKer's interested in a get together Saturday April 18th?

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was 1962... I know I am not off by much if at all!

Can't wait to hear it, I've seen lots of posts about how nice this amp is!

(It's an H.H. Scott 222C integrated, if you were not aware of what Mark was working on for me!)

OK four years younger than me... OK?! :-)

The bias supply has been modernized. I was able to run it for about 15 minutes last night and all seemed well. I hope to get a little more smoke-testing in before Saturday afternoon, but my current plan will be to take it (to its) home on Saturday!

It's a beautiful amplifier...

That's my old home track!

Used to run up there when it was Bryar Motorsports park, with COM (Corvettes Of Mass) some 20 years ago...
I'd love to take you up on the free passes someday, maybe volunteer to work a corner sometime as well!
Do you know if AK member BShorey runs SCCA up there?
Imagine that; I ran COM in my 1987 red MR2 back then too!
What car did you run at the time?
They're always looking for corner workers and people they can draft into other jobs. You'll probably want to stay behind the barriers with your toe'lio.

PS- Scored some vinyl up at the joint in Lawrence today.

Mostly crewed for a buddy of mine, he had a 944 turbo, and a eurospec VW Golf Cabriolet that was shipped over here, before the Golf was available in the US. Both were red as well. got some seat time in those. I did some autoX as well. Did the driver school up there. Worked the corners on several occasions, trying to fight of the wasps that lived in the corner towers while trying to concentrate on the race and my flagging duties!

Loved it, but just didn't have the resources campaign a vehicle of my own. Ran a Sirocco for awhile, but couldn't keep fixing and tweaking it on my meager budget.

Lot's of fun, plus the skills you learn can help save your ass off the track as well. I recommend that anyone who loves driving and cars to give it a whirl!

Remember the "Ugly Duckling"? The primer gray Corvette?

I almost went there this morning!

I did a sleep study in Medford last night, and it was almost 8 am when I was coming to my exit on the way home this morning, and I contemplated staying on the highway and head over there, but I had crap I needed to get done this morning.

Was it busy, and what time where you there?

I'll have to break out the wood case for it and give it a quick sanding and a fresh coat of Tung oil today!

Got the case sanded down, finished it off with 400 grit and a hand block. Tack ragged it clean, and brushed on the first coat after dinner tonight!

0000 wool and another coat should have her looking pretty!

So... I'll be over sometime after lunch (early/mid afternoon); does that sound OK?

I will try to get there around then also or maybe a little earlier - depending what I put in the car. :lmao:

Anytime after 11 AM will be fine! Ends when ever everyone is gone!

I've got hamburg, some hot dogs, a batch of black eyed peas, snacks, etc or we can pick up a pizza or something. BYOB.

No doorbell, and I may not hear you knock if the music is playing, so just come right on in! I promise I will be fully dressed!

No, my dog does not bite! :D

All are welcome to stop over, for you newcomers this is a great way to meet a few of the local AK'ers, so don't be shy, come on over!

I was there about 1PM, not too busy. I pulled about 40 LPs and took 20 after inspection. There was one in there that looked like it had been sitting in the sun for a while. I know the M97xe is a good tracker but not that good!
Overall a great score!

If Dave and Mrs. Dave are there... you'd better be.

Ran the 222C for about 20 minutes at full mains voltage (119.2 according to the Kill-A-Watt) and all seems well. Sounded good to me but I was only using a pair of R/S Optimus something-or-others with 5" PP woofers and 'monopole' Lineaum tweeters.

Some hostage photos (that prove little save that I take really bad photos) are attached.

Gonna have lunch with Mrs. H (Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's...) and then I'll hit the road to work... umm... I mean Tewksbury. Hope I remember to stop driving someplace slightly different than every other day...

Yes, thanks Birddog! And it was great to see youse guyz in the flesh again!
Did any or all of you make it to the Flea at MIT?

Thanks Birddog and everyone else for a fun afternoon! I learned what the fuss was all about with small Mission speakers and I even warmed up to a pair of Klipsch's :-)

Thanks to all who attended yesterday! It was great to see a few familiar faces again, as well as getting to meet two members I had not met yet, Adam & Adam!

Hope we have another meet-up again soon!

Special shout-out to Mark Hardy for the excellent job he did updating my H.H. Scott 222C amp! I refinished the wood case, and installed new feet, and she looks as good as she sounds now!

Thank you Mark!

I was all packed and just about ready to go to MIT when I realized that I'd be better off replacing my car's thermostat (and water pump, timing belt, tensioner, idler wheels, belts, etc) since I'm driving to NJ this week and it's a long walk back.
How was the MIT turnout?

MIT was packed to the gills. Lots of cool stuff, as always. The only things I picked up were a PowerMac G4 computer, and a complete set of Sean Connery James Bond films on LaserDisc. If you saw an idiot hauling a huge Apple computer box and a large plastic bag, that was probably me...

Anyway, thanks to John for an awesome meet! Got to listen to all sorts of cool gear, and cool music! I'll have to bring more stuff with me to the next meet.

I was there and Markus was selling!!!!

in classic 'MIA fashion' I totally missed this thread :tears:

saw Mr and Mrs Botrytis at MIT and it was lotsa fun - made some $$ so I can *finally* buy a proper cart for my TT.

and btw mhardy - met a friend of yours - Gary - cool guy !

I'll see you guys soon !

Gary is a very cool guy; I wish I had 10% of his intelligence, energy, and dedication (to anything!).
Sorry I missed buying all your stuff, Markus!
