Need help : Fisher 101d blow fuse

Hi every body,
I have this Fisher 101D for a while and I love the sound. While we listen music one evening and the sound pop from the amp and everything quiet.......the fuse blow .Next day buy new fuses box of five (2 Amp the same as the old one) put it in, turn power on and pop again. I try 3 times ( pull all tubes out) but it's keeping blow fuse.
Any Idea why ? What should I look ?

Sounds like a shorted cap, at least. It's gonna need an overhaul. UNPLUG IT, and don't waste anymore fuses, or risk a fire.

1. If you're not technical and are interested, read the sticky threads at the top of the tube forum.
2. If you're not technical and not interested, find a local technician.

You could take the bottom cover off and look for burned things or sniff around for burned components.

There is a tool called a variac and it allows you to lower the AC voltage going into the unit. Putting the unit on a variac or, if you're inclined to make a dim bulb tester, which acts similarly (see the DIY thread on making dim bulb tester) would be your first stop. http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=392333
