Need help I.D.ing old pair of Atecs. Can somebody help?

I bought these altecs today for a real good price, with the original warranty card. Needless to say, I am having a very good day. One problem though, I have no idea what the model # is. Can anybody help me? Each speaker has one Altec 15" 602D duplex speaker and one N 3000E dividing network. Cabinets measure 35"W X 26"T X 18"D. They have the old altec logos so I'm guessing maybe they were made in the 50's? I would appreciate any help someone could give me with this. I've already looked on the Lansing heritage sight but I couldn't seem to find anything. Thanks, Greg

They sound pretty good, but I bet they would sound better if I had them hooked up to something with tubes in it... Here's some more pics.

I'd say late 50's is correct. Altec made cabinets and you could configure them as you liked, or could afford. I suspect you'll like the way they sound! And if you don't, I'll send you my shipping address....

Many times cabinets were custom made back in the day, using Altec components. In fact, what got me into this hobby about 15 years ago was when my Grandfather gave me his entire Altec stereo system. He bought the system brand new in 1962. He had all of the original paperwork, price sheets and catalogs that were marked up with his notes (even the same warranty card as in your picture). The speakers were also the 602D's with 3000 crossovers. The cabinets were custom made to Altec's specs by a company in Arcadia California (near Los Angeles) called Glenn. I belive they were a fine custom furniture manufacturer that did great hi-fi cabinet work. I would have never known who made them if I didn't have the receipts, plans and notes. I would guess those are late 50's to early 60's and probably built to the same specs as the cabinets I had.
There should be a date code on the speakers, 6 numbers that will give you the week and year at least the drivers were born.

Hi Greg, I think I can help you out. The 602's might have been used in another model as well but I know for certain they came bundled in "The Carmel" model. Let us know how much you flip them for, as it is useful for pricing reference.
