New Advent Loudspeaker v polk Monitro 10s

Hi I owned Newe Advent loudspeakers from 1979-1983 then went to Polk Monitor 10s (1980 vintage with Denmark made peerless) I worked in Audio biz in the 80s but always kept the 10s over many other speakers I could have had.
I got into RTA 12Bs a couple of years a go and various SDAs . I now have SDA 2Bs with RDO 194s. The only issue is I do not think SDAs work well with rock as the stage is more distant then a regular speaker. Love the large stage and bass weight.
I picked up a pair of N New Advent Loudspeakers and have benn comparing them to my 10s. I swear the Advent has a slightly less colored sound. A little thinner and not as much bass weight but just seems totaly uncolored. The 10s seem slightly colored and less open if that is possible. They remind me of the Polk Monior 7 I have heard. Am I hearing things hear???

The RTA 12B is probably the most accurate of the group. KG

The only speakers I owned better than my 10B's were JBL 4312B's. But they cost a lot more in the PX at the time. A good friend still has my 10B's and has no plans of getting rid of them. The Advents I've heard generally have a bit of a bass bump and are a little brighter. Nothing wrong with that, they sold a ton of speakers.
 
Polk 10As run on the right vintage gear are hard to beat (you can, but it's not easy).

I have old Large Advents running on a Pioneer SX-3900 in the basement that sound pretty darned nice.

But the 10As on a Marantz 2265 are really something special. (the synergy between them is off the charts!).

Haven't heard the Newer Advents?

OK I know this is old. I have been doing some real comparing and the Advent just seems more open and more musical then the 10s. The 10s have that thickness which makes voices slightly colored. They seem to throw the sound out to the left or right more then the 10s. I keep shaking my head in disbelief..
 
My NLAs sound amazing as well, but comparing them to my Monitor 10s with the Peerless tweets is a tough one! The Advents are kinda picky about what feeds them. They simply amaze everyone when attached to my old Lafayette ss 40wpc integrated.The Polks like more power...and that reeaally makes 'em sing..and sound their best with my HK and Marantz amps. That said, both have amazing depth, soundstage, and overall a pleasing sound. I would have a very difficult time parting with either set.
 
Although not Monitor 10s', I have Monitor 7B's (with Peerless tweets) and NLA's both connected to a JVC JR-S400 receiver. I really like them both, but the NLA's seem to lack the midrange of the Polks. I find the NLA's great on rock, but really prefer the Polks for vocals, jazz and acoustic.

I owned both the NLA's and Polk 10's (and 7's) back in the day and enjoyed them all. I have reacquired some NLA's as they are tough to beat for balance, musicality and bass. I havent heard the Polks in so long I couldn't compare the two but if memory serves they were very enjoyable speakers too.
 
I have 10A's which I have held onto longer than any other speakers I own. They sound really great on my Sansui 881, but kinda harsh on my 9090DB. The 9090 sounds great on every other speaker except the 10's. Not sure, but maybe synergy.
