New Pre-Amp from My Work Bench

I thought I would build something different this time. This time I wanted to see what I could come up with in a pre-amp. Here are some picks in attached files. The chassis is jatoba hardwood the metal is solid polished brass. The caps are the highest quality on the market. Tantalum and western electric audio caps. Tubes in the audio section are all NOS. The pre-amp uses two #36, six #37 tubes. The power supply uses a #84 and OA3 and OC3 regulator tubes. The unit has inputs for turntable with “RIAA” CD, Tape, and Tuner. Output is to amp and tape recorder. How does it sound just wonderful? I’ll be putting it up on ebay after thanksgiving. I want to listen to it for a couple of weeks. Any question just drop me a line. I enclosed the drawings for the pre-amp for anyone who wishes to build one

litefoot,

That is OUTSTANDING work!!

When audio equipment becomes more than just something to reproduce music and moves into a form of artistic sculpture I'm always gaga over it.

You've got every reason to be proud and to be the envy of DIYer's everywhere.

Best,
mojo

wow thats one nice looking preamp you've got there.i particulary like the use of the old 36's and 37's :thmbsp:

Every right to be proud since thats gorgeous work but is this an ad ??

No this is not an ad. I’m just showing what anyone can do with a little time and effort… If anyone would like to build one let me know I'll send you the drawing ..George

Hmmmm, why not list that beauty right here George, i figure lots of folks would be interested in your amp right here on AK................................

great work

thats an awesome piece. I second the suggestion to list to the ak folks first.

What type of volume control did you use?

What can I say it is TOTL from where I sit. I just wish I could listen to it and hear the love my ears would be so happy.
