Hi I'm looking for some feedback...I have a pair of snell type a's couple of sunfire amps....lexicon dc1 which is not worth fixing ..so ive been told....replaced that with used cal audio processor.....that died.....so do I buy something used or something new... I loved the dc 1 so how much do I need to spend on something new to get the equivalent of lexicon dc1 technology....im afraid to buy used and have it die in 6 months . trying to keep budget under 1000....thanks

I have a Marantz AV7005 that has been great and has most of the modern bells and whistles. Probably can get a used one of these for under 1000.
If you don't need or don't want the newest/newer stuff and don't need/want HDMI, I can also wholeheartedly recommend an Anthem AVM 20 (v2). One of these may be harder to find but should be way under 1000 and they're really solid pieces.
A new option might be the Emotiva UMC-200. I have no direct experience with one, but my brother seems satisfied with his.

My dc-1 works perfectly, but I've considered the UMC-200 anyway. Don't know of any pre/pro under a kilobuck to touch the Emotiva. However, even though HDMI switching would be a plus for me, the dc-1's sound quality and feature set are hard to give up. If mine quit today, the UMC is the only replacement on my list, especially at the current sale price.
