Thanks Sandman, but if it gets to that I may consider it. I still think that there are some out there that would be original. I hope I don't have to win the lottery to get one lol.
Black Rustoleum paint if applied carefully and a little thick will look like plastic when dried and be very durable. Thanks Sandman, but if it gets to that I may consider it. I still think that there are some out there that would be original. I hope I don't have to win the lottery to get one lol.
I meant the original black OEM push button switch failed and it was replaced with the green rocker switch. It didn't fail, it works it's just not good to look at...
The SM is available FOC on the Elektrotanya website - it's not the best of copies, but it's free & 'clean'.Do anyone have a copy of the manual for this unit ? I tried a few sites but each download, it is pretty much a virus and I just do not want to chance that again.
It's most likely the same switch. I believe the black "Power" button is only a plastic cover which can be removed and placed on the new switch.Just to give you the idea - the following eBay listing shows what I think is the correct type of switch (going by the part numbers), albeit with a 'silver' pushbutton cover instead of the black. It's similar to the arrangement used in other ES series amps from that era, e.g., the TA-F500ES, TA-F530ES, etc. (I own several), but I can't say if they all used the exact same switch. I have no connection whatsoever to the seller or that item - it's just the first decent photo I found.

Thank you so much again Goldie, I was able to download the manual which is free of malware. The SM is available FOC on the Elektrotanya website - it's not the best of copies, but it's free & 'clean'.
The power button you have fitted is a rocker switch, the original is a simple push-button switch, so to return it to original you'd need the switch + the pushbutton 'cover' + eventually the switch mounting hardware/pcb if it's been removed or modified etc..

Well I found the part number for the power button through the manual with your help in locating a manual for it. PN# 4-908-856-01 Now to find it is going to be a task...lolIt's most likely the same switch. To be honest, I believe this push button switch is the same switch used by multiple manufacturers on their equipment. You might get lucky and find an amp/receiver with the identical push button in a thrift store selling for cheap.
Not trying to be rude, but why do you want to get the same OEM switch that appears to break easily? It broke on your unit and on the unit in the old post that you posted here.Well I found the part number for the power button through the manual with your help in locating a manual for it. Someone on here had the same issue with a different unit but same part number for the button...
Help ! with Sony TA-N77ES
Hello, I have a pair of Sony TA-N77ES amps. One I use all the time and it is great the second one has a broken speaker selector switch (the stem ) and is missing the power button. The amp functions perfectly but looks like hell without these and the selector is stuck on "B". Does anyone know if...audiokarma.org
