I remember Sierra Vista when it had one blinking red light... now it's 'huge'. The high school used to be a couple miles outside of town, last time I was there it was in the middle of the city. On base one could rent horses for a dollar an hour or five dollars all day... or twenty dollars for the weekend, could ride to Mexico if you wanted... or just ride out and camp. Ft. Huachuca had a great property disposal at the time... sold by the pound cheap. There is a really neat historic cemetery above the Bonnie Blink housing area... worth some time spent. As you must know the Ft. was a territorial fort. Then there is Tombstone and Bisbee... everything about the Arizona southeast... love it.
Yes sir, in a lot of ways the town still has that small town feel. We are past the one stop light, but Sierra Vista will always stay small. The installation here will see to it that no big retailers or companies will move in so as to protect air/space from any electromagnetic waves. I'm fine with that, with work I travel quite a bit so I get my big city fix on a monthly/bi-weekly basis.
