Great forum here! Lots of useful info. I've been back into vinyl now for a about a year. So far...I've found a H-K 330B, Pioneer PL-112D and a pair of Kilpsh kg4s.

The system sounds good so far. I'm always looking to improve. 1st was the new Ortofon cartridge. Then pre-amp jumpers. (They seemed to make a small difference).

Am I missing anything?

Cheer's!

Welcome to AK, from the north side of Illinois....

Well, let's see... You can disassemble the Pioneer PL-112D lubricate it and give it a new belt...

Read up on proper setup of cartridges. This can make a big difference.

Then, as long as you are staying with MM cartridges, look around for DIY phono stage pre-amps. (I just haven't found a MC capable DIY phono stage I liked). Opinions abound around here...

For the KG-4's... We'll you got some pretty good speakers there. But, given their age, you make wish to consider changing/upgrading the capacitors on the crossover.

Then, you can start playing with vibration damping and LP cleaning possibilities.

Oh, yes, and hand made interconnects are always fun... Otherwise, someone around here can give you pointers to inexpensive high quality interconnects...

You broke yet? :D Don't worry, there's more.... :thmbsp:

Well... You asked.

Cfranz,

I did indeed ask... and so it goes.
Please clue the newbie in on "interconnects". I did make my own pre-amp jumpers.

Cheers,
P.S. I just found a Sansui 5000A. If she runs good, she's comin' home with me.
