Do you know what city they're in? Listing only says CA.

*edit: nevermind, says Chico.

they look really similar to those bookshelf M&K speakers, just on steroids!

If memory serves me Brooks Berdan had a hand in developing these speakers as well as a speaker for the current Wilson line, or the designer of these designed a speaker for wilson and Brooks somehow came into my thoughts.
I dunno...I`m getting older now and things get hazy.

Seller just relisted, came way down in price, and would not ship which is okay by me.
Couldn't resist....... I nabbed them this morning with BIN!
Now if I can get my buddy to bring em down to me one of his bi weekly trips to the Mendo coast and save the 6 hour round trip drive on these windy nor cal roads.:thmbsp:

What do you think Bi with Bryston 2bs or tube amps (Dynaco ST70 clone,Dynaco SC35 clone)?

Just found the spec sheet . It looks like the single woofer cab is from the system 110 and the three driver mid high cab is from the system 220.

Can any of you kind folks give me the power handling ratings and or SPL@1w1m specs for these beautys?

Congrats on the speakers. I really dont know the particulars but GNP is still there in Pasadena. I just got a replacement grill for mine there.
Brooks Berdan in Monrovia would definitely know about these speakers and I believe has the original literature. I need to drive over there one day and get some papers on mine.
I have the two woofer model, that is two woofer in the lower cabinet with the same top speaker and I have ran them with 20 tube watts and 200 solid state watts I have never Bi Amp them though. The crossovers are top notch build quality so I doubt they need anything, rubber speaker surrounds, SEAS woofers If I recall, Special construction 3" Vifa midrange like the Kappa series used, the tweeter is exactly like a Boston acoustic(who ever made theirs). They can be a bright horn like speaker if you like that sound or adjust them down for a less colored sound.
Your luck they arent well known speaker. There was a set like that that fetched a little over 400 on ebay a few years ago, Must have been at least 2 guys that knew what they were.

Hey thanks,it was your dollars and sense thread that made me pull the trigger. I was thinking of holding out the 9 days for the ridiculously low opening bid but thought better after researching these.
Luckily my friend can pick up and deliver them saving me the drive! (It didn't hurt that we're both musicians and I got him on my gig for the night giving him a reason to come on down),
I found the spec sheet as I said and another sheet describing the GNP line from that era. They say that the model 110 and 220 which these are ( not Valkyries IIRC) were specifically designed to mix and match, either the satellite mid high alone with either of the woofer cabs (one or two drivers etc), or use the woofer alone with other small speakers.
I have quite a few small speakers and mini monitors (Minimus 7s,Tannoys, JBL Control1 etc)
It will be fun to try them out with the bass cab but I doubt any of them will beat the GNP satellites.
I'll try to attach the spec sheets here. I'm tech challenged as they say.If it doesn't happen right away feel free to PM or email me and I can send you the spec sheet and description from GNP.It has all the info I need!
Great AK site!Oops have them on my laptop, will add a reply shortly.

Here they are:

Here are the GNP facts below:D

Sweeet!....Thanks for the info:thmbsp: I didn't realize I had the 220 and not the valkyrie. No bother though. They sound very nice and thats whats important.
One thing about them that I do like is when using a line-stage preamp there is no need for tone controls, at least with my set they put out mondo bass and if by chance you are unhappy with the bass output you could always add the second woofers, a matching set would be easy to find on ebay and fairly inexpensive. A clean cut with a roto-zip and wallah...A second woofer.

Funny you should mention that as I just bought a cut out saw with a jig up to 12".
The GNP description says the bass cabs in the model 220s handle more wattage than the 110s.Do you really think the 120 is the same as the 220 in all respects sans the extra woofer maybe wired in parallel?Hmmm, now you got me thinking!
Well, after looking at the info it looks like the 220's cab is 5.25" taller and it handles 50 more watts.Might be different crossover values, maybe different version impedence for the drivers no?
I can keep my eye out for other GNP cabs but I think I'll save my saw for my diy boxes etc for now.

I`m nealy sure the cabinet is the same. If you need any values, pictures I would be happy to remove a woofer and take pics or check ohm values of the components.
Have a listen to them and if you get the itch just PM me and I`ll check mine out for you, I can take pics,Ohm values or whatever.
Seriously though sometimes I think I could do without the extra woofer, Some of my amps like a luxman 5000 was way too bass heavy, then there was a Bedini 801 that was just right. I seriously thought about a switch on the back that would disconnect one of the drivers when I wanted.
You will get allot of bass from the satelite`s bass driver as well.
PM me when you try them and let me know what you think.
