Night Time Mac Presentation - Pure Blue Bliss

Been working on the night time presentation of my Mac System. Was thinking of purchasing the c h a m e l e d e o n but could not find a dealer in the US. Decided to go to my local hardware store and see if I could find some lights that would give the Mac blue tint. Found some light blue christmas lights and made some blue dome lights out of various parts from the hardware store. Like the way the effect turned out.

Love to sit in the music chair and turn off all the bright lights and listen to the mac with the blue lights on. It is "Pure Blue Bliss" and thought you guys might enjoy it.

Awesome! Very nice. Funny thing is if Mcintosh amps were red we'd all LOVE red. or green or yellow, we'd all LOVE those colors. LOL that's funny. Does look good, good match too.

That is one of the coolest things. Ever.

Simple, effective. Clubtastic. Like an ultralounge in your home.

Thanks for the replies.

Let see:
You hate me...LOL
Love the lights...
Yes I do pray to the medicine buddha due to my health condition.

Think the line above desribes it the best:
"Simple, effective. Clubtastic. Like an ultralounge in your home. "

Really sets the mood for when listening to music at night. I have other lights I can put in and it varies the color. The whole room is blue and it is brighter then the pictures indicate. I do not need a real light to see the remote control which is critical. Fun to listen and drift off with the lights...

Love live the blue lights...

Bro- huge changes since my visit on Sunday. I will be back shortly to experience the next level, it matches the recent sonic evolution your system has taken. :thmbsp:

USBlues,

How does the XRTs sound partnered with the 501s? Mine with a MC2500 sounds somewhat tired and I am thinking if it is the speakers or the amp. Thanks.

Outstanding. Those speakers remind me of the monolith from 2001 Space Odyssey

When phil-er-up got dedicated lines for the 501's they truly took hold of those big woofer cabinets, while at the same time opened up the tweeter columns. These speakers require prodigious power, you may wish to look at a dedicated line if you don't have one. MC 1.2Kw's would perhaps be the ideal amps for these, but the sound my friend has now with 501's is phenomenal.

Dedicated lines = dedicated wall socket outlets? I was under the impression that the MC2500 was a powerful beast.

Yes, the outlets would be on a line running from an individual circuit breaker on your panel box. The MC2500 is a powerful beast, and it requires power from the wall to roar!

Hey phil er up, What about some lava lamps and wave machines??? That would be cool too. I love doing things similar; sort of a sensor deprevation tank listening room. Very cool Scottsmrnyc

That looks pretty cool!

Have your neighbors called the cops yet.

"Hello, police department, I would like to report a strange blue column of light coming from my neighbors window. I know there is something weird going on over there, because all I here is loud music and shadows of people dancing. I am worried blue aliens will come for me"

Answering some of the questions in this forum:

Someone asked why didn't I get other speakers:
Well, I love the XRT22 and they are the wall of sound speakers. An analog here is with the 6900 was like a 4 cylinder engine. That could move the speakers but not really drive them. THe 402 is like a 6 cylinder engine and it could drive the speakers but had no low end torque (ability to control the bass). THe 501 is like a 8 cylinder engine and it has the power and torgue to drive the xrt22 with 20 amp dedicated lines. So I never thought of giving up the xrt22 just needed the right engine to drive them.

Bg - my upgrade to 20 amp lines cost 1400 dollars and that was upgrading 7 breakers from single to double breakers and then they had to do the pipe work on the outside of the house. If I went from a 150 amp box to 200 amp would of cost around 2000 dollars. Best upgrade I have ever done.

No lava lamps yet. Sort of like it all blue right now.

No cops at the house yet. I am lucky where I live I can play as loud as music as possible and my neighbors never would complain.

Sometime I will post my christmas pics of the mac equipment. I superimposed some christmas lights images over my mac system. Came out really cool.
