Non-obvious album you'd like to see rereleased from the masters

Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim (Reprise 1021)

Genesis - Selling England by the Pound

Joe Cocker - With a Little Help from My Friends

The Police
Regatta De Blanc and Outlandos D'amour. Great albums, terrible quality.
Zenyetta Mondatta wasn't too bad and Synchronicity was decent.
Darn, all of them could do with an uplift.

I saw an unopened half speed master of Zenyetta at a local record store.

The remainder of the Keb Mo and Mighty Sam McClain catalogs. Steppenwolf is for sale now at AS.

+1. Sam McClain's "Give It Up to Love" on 180g vinyl (Analogue Productions) is one of the best sounding LPs that I own. Fantastic Blues album. There were other superb McClain albums on Audioquest Music before they quit the LPs (what a shame).

The first Steppenwolf Album is either just out or about to be re-issued from the original analog tapes.

The Steppenwolf recordings generally are thought to be pretty well done the first time around.

At least that's the impression I had from another forum...

Caravan - The Land of Pink and Grey

It was beautifully remastered about 2 years ago ...
3 disc version is available for under $20!
2 CDs and one DVD - and it sounds GORGEOUS!

http://www.amazon.com/In-Land-Grey-Pink-Caravan/dp/B004TPXVKS/ref=pd_cp_m_0

Disc One contains the original album plus three brand new stereo mixes of album tracks by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree).
Disc Two contains four new stereo mixes of non-album tracks plus two previously unreleased recordings and five live tracks.
Disc Three is a DVD containing a brand new 5.1 Surround Sound mix and a new stereo mix of the entire album by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree and two videos recorded for the German pop music program, Beat Club, in June 1971. Decca.

Crossram

Don't know what kind of luck Chad will have getting the rights to redo the Audioquest stuff, but I hope he can get it done. I have all the McClain CD's and bought Give It Up on pre-order.

Sounds like they will have good material to work with. I might buy that one. I have a decent VG+copy of Gold, but really nice Steppenwolf would be a treat.

I own several of them (all ABC-Dunhill) and would beg to differ. Of course, playing them repeatedly on my BSR ceramic-cartridge meatgrinder didn't help matters any.

I knew about that one and it's really what prompted me to pitch my reply in this thread and I'm really looking forward to listening to it.
I think the ABC Dunhill pressings were lacking in a lot of areas and in a lot of ways. It actually may come down to the later pressings tho....
I have Monster and For Ladies Only on very early pressing and they are pretty damn good, especially the Monster one.
Those MCA reissues just plain stink!

Carole King - Tapestry
Garbage's self-titled debut
& Elvis Costello's Brutal Youth, one of his best albums but never released on LP because it had the misfortune of being released in the mid-90's (as was garbage, but that somehow got pressed to very hard-to-find vinyl copies)

Tomorrow - Tomorrow

There have been some very limited foreign reissues but I do not think this has been done properly.
