IMO the vocals from my dying bride arent very "DOOMY" lol im not sure what you would file it under though

YOB has more of the doom vocals...imo and i dont think much of my opinion just my dying bride didnt do it for me.. i hope this link works or else im gonna look like an even bigger dumbasss

Last Fair Deal Gone Down slays. My favorite is still Dead End Kings, though. Something about that just gets me. And the reworking of it into Dethroned and Uncrowned is chilling.

A good Doom Metal band to check out is Solitude Aeturnus. Their stuff is on most of the streaming sites and vinyl is sparingly available on Discogs. They are good. And their founder, John Perez, is one of the most stand up guys in the business. Mad respect for him.

wow, lots of NON BLACK METAL in this so-called black metal thread. i REALLY dig Yob, one of my more favorite bands, but they are NOWHERE near black metal. not even close.

I basically have little to no interest in Black Metal, however I think Gorgoroth and Burzum are great. Varg Vikernes is a ****ing metal genius.
 
I have a friend who listens to this stuff. I had walked into his shop one day. He had some blasting, and I was curious. Asked about it to make conversation honestly. It turns out the singer was a chick. I had nightmares after that.
 
I don't recall who it was. I don't really listen to that music. I was just shocked to see it was a chick singing err..... growling.
 
I really dig bathory and dark throne! I love Fenriz's radio show, too.

Nice! Glad you appreciate it. They're from the Netherlands. I am a proud owner of that album on LP. I love many styles of black metal, but really love raw dark weird stuff like this.

Mgla is killer. I have their 2006 release 'Presence' on LP.
