Once again, here's the story of green tweeter cones ending up where they are not expected. Originally, Advent used green cones in the Smaller Advents as opposed to the orange/red cones on the original (large) Advents. It was to easily identify a tweeter without having to make sure the magnet was the smaller one for the Smaller Advent. Simple:Orange cone tweeter - Original Advent, green cone tweeter - Smaller Advent. The smaller magnet was used in the Smaller Advents to match the sensitivity of the woofer and they didn't want to mix them up.
Long about the middle of 1975, Advent decided to use a crossover change to match the sensitivities instead of a smaller magnet on the Smaller Advents. However, Advent had green cones left over and decided to used them up instead of discarding them. So, speakers of each type from the latter part of 1975 and after that can be found with green OR orange cone tweeters, even some of the early New Advents, as reflected in the subject speakers of this thread. The tweeter in that speaker is obviously a New Advent tweeter and NOT one of the original fried eggs. Green cone tweeters would be expected to be very rare in a New Advent, however.
