Odd issue with my Marantz 2270

I have this issue with the tuner in that the left channel isn't nearly as strong as the right, but the issue seems to be less severe if the balance control is set in the middle. With the balance set in the middle, I hear that the left channel is just a bit weaker than the right, but when I check it with the balance all the way to the left, so I'm only hearing what's coming out of that speaker, it's very quiet. I don't have this kind of issue with any of the other inputs, and since I mostly listen to talk radio rather than music, the whole balance issue with the radio isn't really driving me nuts... but it does seem odd that setting the balance more toward that one speaker makes it weaker, rather than stronger.... Go figure?

That is usually an issue with a bad ground. Try the balance control with another input just to verify that the balance control is working ok.

Everything works fine with the other inputs. The issue is only with the tuner section and then oddly the output of the left channel is weakest with the balance turned all the way to left.

In that case I suspect a bad ground on the cable from the output of the tuner.
